George W. Bush
In his final act of bravery, he continued to engage the enemy until he was mortally wounded, gallantly giving his life for his country and for the cause of freedom. By his selfless leadership, courageous actions, and extraordinary devotion to duty, Lieutenant Murphy reflected great credit upon him and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service
Dick Couch
LT Murphy did all within his power to complete his mission when that became impossible, he did all in his power to take care of his men until he was mortally wounded
Gary Williams
Michael Murphy had the innate ability to do the right thing at the right time, for the right reason.

SEAL of Honor is a compelling read chock full of lessons learned for military and civilian alike. It is a tearjerker from the very beginning and Gary Williams does an excellent job of capturing the duality of our everyday peaceful lives here in the United States and the exceptional heroism and harrowing tragedies that occur overseas...SEAL of Honor is more than an account of a military action…it is an examination of one man's life, his maturation, his service, his combat experience, and the actions that led to Michael Murphy being awarded the Medal of Honor. SEAL of Honor should be on every leader's short list of must read books.

…a story of commitment, courage, integrity and honor. No one can understand the dedication required by a Special Forces operator until this is read. And no one can understand the life of Michael Murphy until this is read. Bravo, Mr Williams. a great story about a great American HERO.

Seal of Honor for any type of reader is a one of a kind book that will be enjoyed by all… Williams allows the reader to journey through Murphy's young life, his rationale for joining the service and how he endured and made it through this difficult training…You will not be disappointed by Seal of Honor! One of the best military and American history books that I have read in some time. Good job to Williams and his efforts to write an outstanding account of this holder of the Medal of Honor.

Thoroughly enjoyed "Seal of Honor" by Gary Williams detailing the hopes and dreams of Lt. Michael P. Murphy. Reading about the punishing training that prospective Seals go through, gave me insight as to how much it meant to Lt. Murphy to serve his country as a Navy Seal. Very detail oriented with enough personal information to keep me reading through to the end.

SEAL of Honor: Operation Red Wings and the Life of Lt. Michael P. Murphy, USN is the true-life biography of a heroic soldier of the U.S. military operation in Afghanistan. From his life on New York's Long Island, to the decisions that led him to be part of an elite fighting unit on a remote mountainside in Afghanistan, to his self-sacrificing heroism during a deadly battle against the Taliban, to the friends and family who justly mourn his loss, SEAL of Honor is an inspiration. A handful of black-and-white photographs illustrate this powerful and moving testimony to a man of insurmountable character and courage.

I first learned of LT. Murphy from a workout after him. This book gives a brief look at Murph's life beginning when he was a toddler. It takes us through his childhood and shows how Murph would help people every chance he was given. I loved the "behind the scenes" look…at Penn State, OCS, BUD/S, SQT, etc…the book is well written in that the author immediately gets to the point and does not ramble on. The book also honors all the people…that died.

Read it cover to cover, twice. Required reading for anyone who has a child who could one day serve our country. I wish they would write a book about Danny Dietz and Matthew Axelson as well.
J Lauck-
An excellent book on the life of a true hero and the US Navy. Thanks and may God be with our SEALS!
Richard O. Reed
This a good read, and I especially would like to see people read it who believe they've had a bad day when they miss their lunch break, or get a flat tire on the way home! This should be required reading in High School.
